I have not been motivated to blog- once again. My last post talked about a car accident I was in and now, as of 2 weeks ago, I had to have a spontaneous surgery to remove my appendix. Life has truly been something else for me in the last couple of months. Through it all, I have had endless support and love from the people around me- which I cannot be more thankful for. The timing of all of this has been rough, but I guess there never is a good time to have your appendix removed (and to not have a car...). I really wanted to work this month, as I am on my only break from school for the summer, and am trying to save as I am getting a car lease this week (super excited about that!), but those plans changed following my appendectomy. I am not able to lift anything heavier than like 10 pounds- which is pretty much the entirety of both of my jobs. It is what it is though and I am thankful to my boss(es) for allowing me to do what I can- when I can, and for being so understanding! I am also thankful that this upcoming semester of school does not require me to be on campus every day, so I can work a couple of days of the week, unlike my first semester of the program. As I get closer to beginning my third semester in my program, the semester that we have our first pediatric fieldwork, I feel excited and a little nervous! I know the semester will not be easy by any means, but I am ready for the challenge and know that I can do and be great at anything I put my mind to (well, maybe not like winning a world record for most hot dogs eaten or something, that sounds painful).

A couple more positive notes, other than me finally getting a new car this upcoming week (yay!), is that I received a scholarship that I applied for through school! So that's pretty cool and helpful :) I also recently went on a trip to Boyne, which was so much fun! Parker and I will also be going to the UP soon to visit some of our friends- so that is definitely something I am looking forward to ending my summer break! Although some things have not gone the best for me this summer so far, I know that good days are coming and I am still such a lucky girl.

In my last blog post, I talked about some positive life updates and things I want to do with my blog going forward. Well, since I wrote that and finally posted it, I got into a car accident. Thankfully everyone is okay other than some minor neck pain, but I totaled my car... ugh. There's obviously never a good time for that to happen, but wow is this just the most terrible time. I am in my master's program for occupational therapy which means I have not been able to work as much, and I do not have very good finances at the moment for my situation. So not only am I shaken up by the whole thing, but I am also so stressed about what I am going to do now. I know everything will work out and that the most important thing is that everyone is okay and that cars are replaceable, not people- but damn.

Something that really opened my eyes was the people in my life who dropped everything to come to check on me or make it known they were here if I needed anything. Despite me being okay physically for the most part, I still had so much love and care from people in my life. Even my sweet across-the-street neighbor came to our door this morning to give me a huge hug and to pray for me and my family, with me. Despite not knowing what I am going to do from here with transportation and my current finances, knowing I have so much love around me is worth more than any dollar amount in the world.

Be there for your people. Appreciate your people. Never stop showing your people you care. You just may never know when something could happen to yourself or them. 🫶🏼

"May you always find rainbows after the storm" -from a cute card that my lovely friend gave me.

Let's get past the part where I say it's been 7 months since I last wrote. The other night, when I was stuck in my head and couldn't fall asleep, I thought, "Why don't I re-vamp my blog?!" So, that's why I am sitting here now. I want this to be more than just me ranting and hoping people can relate (which I know people can in most of my posts) but I also want to open it up to book talk, new buys, yummy meals, and obviously some rambling still. (and more- I'm still trying to figure it all out!) By the time I post this - I may or may not be in the process of updating and changing my website, so bear with me!

Life updates:

- Almost done with my second semester of OT school; it's going great and I love it!

- Still working whenever I can when I am not in school!

- My family recently rescued a retired sled dog, her name is Rhea, she's 9 and she is the sweetest! (and my new favorite walking buddy!)

- I am currently watching The Vampire Diaries for a third time... oops (Team Damon).

- I am trying to balance school, work, and my social life - all while trying not to compare myself to others if they are at different parts of their journey in life.
